What Water Carries is an Indigenous-specific consulting practice of Studio H Canada Creative Services and Consulting Inc. We bring culturally grounded practice together with strong project delivery to support complex work with clarity, care and accountability.
What the name carries
Water carries stories, memory, knowledge, responsibility and relationships forward. The name speaks to continuity and connection, while the work itself remains grounded in the particular people, place, Nation, organization and purpose of each engagement.
Distinctions matter
There is no single Indigenous experience, community or protocol. Our work is distinctions-based and context-specific. We do not flatten First Nations, Métis and other Indigenous peoples, Nations, communities or organizations into a single approach.
Clients and host organizations retain authority over cultural protocols, ceremony, community knowledge, Indigenous data, program decisions, messaging and approvals. We bring options and recommendations, then support the reliable implementation of their direction.
The work
Current areas of work include Indigenous health and wellness; community and organizational engagement; policy and research; strategy and planning; gatherings and events; program design and evaluation; communications; implementation and change; and cultural/community infrastructure.
Relationship + delivery
The practice is relational without losing practical discipline. We build clear work plans, roles, decision paths, risk and issue controls, communications and quality checks around the work so that relationship and delivery reinforce one another.
Team
What Water Carries brings together Indigenous and allied professionals according to the needs of the assignment. Team composition and cultural knowledge are described specifically rather than generalized across the practice.
